Litman Gregory Wealth Management is pleased to announce that senior advisor Lesley Cannan, CFP®, recently earned the Certified Private Wealth Advisor® (CPWA®) certification, awarded by Investment & Wealth Institute, as well as the Accredited Investment Fiduciary® (AIF®) certification, granted by the Center for Fiduciary Studies (now known as fi360).
“Participating in these programs gave me the opportunity to learn many technical strategies and concepts for advanced tax planning, executive compensation, business sales, estate planning, fulfilling charitable intentions, preserving a legacy, and fiduciary responsibility,” said Lesley.
“What I found the most interesting and relevant to our work with clients was the research on family dynamics, behavioral bias, differences between wealth creators and wealth inheritors, and how to best serve each generation’s needs.”
The CPWA® designation is an advanced professional certification for advisors, and its curriculum includes coursework in sophisticated wealth management strategies, an executive education program with Yale School of Management, and passing a comprehensive examination.
The AIF® designation certifies that an advisor has been thorough their training on all legal and regulatory mandates concerning an advisor’s fiduciary responsibilities in the investment management process, completed a capstone program, and has passed a final exam.
For an advisor to maintain these certifications, the advisor will be required to show on-going experience, ethical adherence, and continuing education
Litman Gregory Wealth Management CEO Jeff Seeley added, “We congratulate Lesley on her accomplishment and her continued effort to expand her investment knowledge in our ever-changing wealth management industry. The CPWA designation (in conjunction with the Yale School of Management) is a rigorous program that considers all the innovations we see in today’s wealth management landscape while the AIF is client centric to the standards of care for investment fiduciary oversight. The achievement of these two recognized designations further demonstrates Lesley’s commitment to her clients and the industry.”
Please join us in congratulating Lesley on her hard work, and her ability to continue to grow her skills and the value she provides to clients.
